1) Words (词汇) :car, put on, thing, leave, work, at home, pub, restaurant, opera, ballet, sleep, wash, dress, start, midday, hot dog, coffee, see, greeting, at the moment, look at, soon, love
2) Key structures (重点句型) :
Some are having afternoon tea at home or walking to pubs and having a drink.
Ability objects (能力目标) :能读懂对正在发生的事情的描述,学会描述自己或他人正在做的事情。
Moral objects (情感目标) :培养对异国文化、生活习俗的兴趣,提高对本国文化的认识。

【Learning Important and Difficult Points学习重点、难点】
To get information from the reading material about people’s life in different places.
To get to know how to write a postcard.

【Learning Procedures学习过程】
Preview(预习·导学):
在文章中划出下列词汇并注上中文: car, put on, thing, leave, work, at home, pub, restaurant, opera, ballet, sleep, wash, dress, start, midday, hot dog, coffee, see.看单词表上的音标学读单词,注意拼写,掌握词义。
试着阅读短文,在不会读的下面画△,查词典并标注音标或问同学和老师,再试着读几遍,仍不会读的单词有:

3、在文中找出下列短语并试着翻译成汉语。

【Class Activities 课堂活动】
Step1. Feedback on the preview(预习情况反馈):
1、讨论解决预习中存在的问题(师生互问探讨)。
2、学习新单词后全班齐读,并找若干学生朗读短文。

Step2. Vocabulary drills(词汇技能训练):
1. Look at the map and talk about where the cities are.
2. Read the phrases in Activity 1 and get their meanings.
3. Do Activity 1 individually and then check with partners.
4. Do Activity 2 :
1) Read the words in the box and get their meanings.
2) Look at the photos and say what the people are doing.

Step3. Fast-reading drills(快速阅读技能训练)
1. Read the passage in Activity 1 and then do Activity 3 individually.
2. Check with your partners.

Step4. Careful-reading drills(细读技能训练)
1. Read the paragraphs 1&2 after the teacher and answer the questions:
1) In London, what are people doing at 5 PM.?

2) Some are having afternoon tea at home, what are other people doing?

Read the paragraphs 3&4 after the tape and check the true sentences.
1) People aren’t having dinner at home at eight PM. ( )

3. Read the paragraphs 5&6 loudly and complete the passages.

3. Finish the exercises of preview in the next paper.
